Kanagawa-oki · Tatebanko
Hokusai's Great Wave as a paper diorama in a box — lean in with the pointer or tilt your phone and the cut layers slide past each other.

Tatebanko (立版古) is a Japanese paper craft: printed scenes are cut into layers and stood one behind another in a shallow box, then viewed through the front opening. This one recreates it in the browser. The window’s edges are the box’s frame, and your eye moves with the pointer, or with the tilt of your phone.
The sheets slide past each other, the box’s inside walls come into view, and the light follows you. Shadows widen behind the sheets, and the cut edges catch the light as you lean in. Press S to switch from the Hokusai print to a synthwave one, and F for full screen.
No build step and no dependencies: plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript drawing SVG.
